Talented trumpet player and music teacher, Mr Robson, has been invited to play at Billy Elliot's final show in London next weekend.
After 4,600 performances over eleven years, the multi award-winning West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical is closing it's curtains for the final time in London due to the theatre's refurbishment programme.
For the final show Mr Robson, alongside the Easington band he plays with, will be marching into the auditorium to the song Once We Were Kings before playing a arrangement of Abide with Me songs on stage at Victoria Palace.
All proceeds from ticket sales of the final performance are being donated to East Durham Trust a charity based in Easington, a former mining town and the setting for Billy Elliot’s iconic story.
Mr Robson said "I feel really lucky to have been chosen to play in the finale of such a well-known production - especially one that is set in the North East. I can't wait to tell my students all about it when we get back to school on Monday."
Good luck Mr Robson!
