Congratulations to Year 7 student, Ella-Mae Lonsdale, for winning gold in the England Boxing National Schools Championships 2019, held at the K2 Crawley on Sunday.
Ella-Mae has been boxing for two years and sticks to a seven-day training schedule including running and skipping every morning before school. Ella-Mae also trains at the Sunderland East End Boxing Club three times a week and runs along the beach on alternate days. All the training certainly paid off as the avid boxer won by unanimous decision in the female cadet under 42kg match.
Next on the cards for Ella-Mae includes trips to Hull boxing club and Ireland to continue to showcase her boxing skills.
