We are proud to announce that our school has been awarded a generous grant under the new Turing scheme to set up a partnership with Eagle Ridge High in Washington DC to undertake a project called CD/DC (County Durham/District of Columbia). For those of you young enough to not 'get' the name - ask your parents!
The partnership will initially involve us studying shared news stories from the UK and USA which have a social importance, meeting via Zoom and creating videos about life in our respective schools. The big plan is to then travel across the Atlantic to Washington to work face-to-face with our new American friends and host a reciprocal visit from the Americans here in the North East soon after.
Thanks to Mr Kell and his colleague, Rossella Cillani (pictured), who worked on the ideas for the Turing process and secured the funding.
