After leaving The Academy at Shotton Hall in 2014, I was awarded a position on the Great Britain Taekwondo under 17 squad. Shortly after, I represented England at the Taekwondo Commonwealth Championships where I won gold.

Since then I have progressed to the senior squad and competed at the European Championships that were held in Rhodes, Greece

Academically, I started at Byron Sixth Form and completed a year. But deciding that the subjects were not for me, I transferred to Durham Sixth Form where I studied BTEC Sport for two years. I now attend Durham University, after gaining the highest possible grade at sixth form, studying sport, exercise and physical activity.

What university do you attend?

Durham University

What qualifications did you receive?

I achieved my BTEC in Extended Diploma in Sport at Durham Sixth Form before going to Durham University where I am currently studying towards a degree in Sport Science.

What are your future plans and ambitions?

My aim would be to become a professional athlete, but I would also love to become a sport scientist; assisting elite athletes on their journey to success.

What has been the highlight of your life so far after leaving school?

Representing Great Britain at the European Taekwondo Championships

What is your favourite Shotton Hall memory?

Reaching the final of the school talent show in Year 7.

You can invite one person to a dinner party - who do you invite and why?

Well...this is a very tricky one. But I think it would have to be Muhammad Ali. For his pure excellence and sporting ability, he truly was, and still is, one of my all time role models.

Muhammad Ali

Advice to my younger self...

Do not listen to anyone that tries to put you down. You create your own success. Once you leave school, everything changes and the world is yours. So work hard and never back down from a dream.
